It's Day 10 of 21 Days of Love! We're closing out another wonderful week on a high! Sometimes, the love we experience is something that has been taken for granted. It's the love of a long-term relationship. One where you have hung in there and weathered the storm, yet, he still needs to know just how much you love him and why. Today's excerpt comes from Audrey Ford in "The Sweet Taste of Love." EXCERPT: “Do you remember the promises that we made to each other on our wedding night?” Gregory asked her. “Yeah, I do,” Ron answered, looking down and then into Gregory’s eyes. “That we would never stop loving each other, never stop touching each other, never stop believing in each other, and never stop respecting each other,” Gregory said, touching Ron’s face. Ron only nodded her head. How had they gotten away from all of that? “Do you know why you love me?” Gregory asked. The question was a simple one, but a simple “yes” was not what Gregory was looking for. He wanted her to tell him why she loved him and were they worth fighting for. Ron knew she owed Gregory at least that much. “I love you because you never gave up on me. I love you because you went to find out who I am and where I came from. With that knowledge, you still love me. I love you because you gave us those two wonderful children. I love you because you took care of my aunt when I never knew she existed. That took a special kind of man and I’m blessed to have him. What I can promise you is this,” she said, dropping her eyes and looking back at him. “That going forward you will never question whether or not I love you,” Ron said, looking into Gregory’s eyes. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Audrey A Ford, is the author of The Sweet Taste of Love and A Touch of Love. Audrey started writing seriously about five years ago. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Audrey was raised an Army brat, so moving around became a way of life. Audrey spent a lot of time making new friends and making the necessary adjustments to fit in. It was at this time that Audrey found her love for reading and writing. Audrey wrote short stories when she was a teenager, but was dissuaded in her pursuit of a writing career by “dream killers” who were not comfortable with her big dreams. Today, writing has become Audrey’s passion. Some days, you can find Audrey writing for hours at a time, which doesn’t happen as often as she would like, but she works it in when she can. Audrey has returned to school to obtain her business degree, something her father had practically begged her to do. Audrey is finding that returning to school was one of the best decisions she ever made.
