We're kicking off a brand new week of 21 Days of Love with a little bit of humor. Why do people date? What are they searching for? Companionship. Entertainment. Intimacy. Interaction. Love. People are mainly looking for L-O-V-E. Along with that search they compile horrorific and humorous stories that go down in the annals of time. Today's author, Dalia Florea is giving us a different take on the game of love. She provides a perspective on what women put up with to get to the ultimate place of falling in love. BLURB: Have you ever wondered about online dating? Journey down the rabbit hole of online dating in this pocket size book of vignettes filled with hilarious stories of meet-ups, musings and more. From Mr. Doesn’t Have A Job to Mr. Takes His Shoes Off During A Date to Mr. Let’s Go For Coffee But Too Cheap To Actually Buy Coffee. This book will have you laughing out loud! EXCERPT: Devon: Head Case I swallowed and was grateful that the server returned to take our orders. It gave me a chance to check myself. Girl, get it together. You can work with it. Maybe. Chill out. I got to thinking that must be some kind of cap to hide all that under it. Dayum. He peered over the menu he held and asked, “What are you having?” Facing the server, I asked for coffee. I wanted to add, “With a shot of bourbon, please.” After the server took our orders and left, Devon pulled his driver’s license from his wallet and handed it to me to prove his identity. I appreciate it, but it ain’t that serious, bruh. I looked down at the picture on his license. Again, it’s amazing what pictures can hide. As we ate, Devon began bragging about his business when his phone chimed. Yes, you guessed it. Turns out, ET didn’t have to phone home. Mama was always on the line. He excused himself from the table and left me there for a while. I didn’t mind. It was a relief from hearing him boast. When he returned, he asked if I was ready to go. I was indeed. When we reached our cars in the parking lot, I turned to thank him for brunch and give him another church hug goodbye and can you believe that long-headed Negro reached for my girls? Oh no he didn’t! I smacked his hands away as hard as I could and yelled, “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” He rubbed the smacked hand. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” Did he think because he bought me food that I owed him something? I slid into my car and slammed the door shut and locked it. I was pissed. I didn’t know whether to report him or get back out of my car and whip his skinny, alien-headed ass. I knew that I could probably take him down because he wasn’t big as nothing. That fool had the nerve to knock on my car window trying to plead how sorry he was. Yes, Negro, your ass sure is sorry. I rolled my eyes at him and pressed my feet on the gas and sped off.
