As we began a brand new week, let's start it by focusing on the promises of Almighty God upon our lives. Today, my friend and fellow author, Chicki Brown is here to share her favorite Scripture. Read on about how it has impacted her life and share your thoughts, as well on this Motivational Monday Moment... I am so happy to be here today to share with Chelle’s readers about my favorite scripture and what it means to me. During the first few years after I came to Christ, I belonged to very traditional Pentecostal church that seemed to focus more on the don’ts and the restrictions of the Christian life than the promises and blessings. I’d learned the importance of salvation and respect for God from my old church, and for that I am thankful. Once I joined a non-denominational Word church that I began to learn all about the good that God has promised His people. The first time I heard Jeremiah 29:11-13, it went directly to my heart. This was a word from God that talked about what He wants for me and not the consequences of perceived sins like wearing jewelry, makeup or pants. There it was in black and white – God saying He had good plans for my future and that He wasn’t going to harm me. And it impressed on me His promise that if I prayed and sought Him with all my heart, He would listen to me. I discovered that there was more to be thankful for than just being saved from hell. Whenever the enemy tries to convince me that my best days are behind me, I remind myself of this promise. Thanks for joining us for another Motivational Monday Moment! Please be so gracious as to leave a comment below about your favorite Scripture, I'm sure Chicki would love to hear from you!
