If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! - Proverbs 24:10 In my novel, Is The Grass Really Greener, five best friends struggle with challenges that life brings, as each woman search for a life better than her own. These ladies struggle with various issues, such as, cancer, single parenthood, infidelity, the loss of a child, and a scandal in the making. Courtney and Nathaniel Hudson have lost their infant son and it's ripping a whole in the fabric of their marriage. Rather than turning to the Lord and one another, they find other ways to handle their heartache and pain. With the storm that comes their way, Courtney finds herself turning to someone outside of her marriage to help deal with her grief. In life we, too, find other ways to handle our heartache and pain, and the general storms of life that come our way. How often have you faced adversity and the storms of life dragged you down? How often have you felt that you just didn't have enough strength to make it through? Yet, here you stand. Here you remain, living to battle another day. When the storms of life arise, we find ourselves wondering how we will make it through to the other side. We question if we have enough strength to make it, and oftentimes feel weak, as we succumb to human emotions, such as anger, sadness, fear, and confusion. These emotions manifest in the physical form through shouting, crying, and depression. As the physical storms have risen, first with Hurricane Harvey, the earthquake that hit Mexico, now as Irma approaches, and we know Jose is following behind her, we have to remain vigilant and prayerful. We must remain vigilant about where the source of our strength comes from. The Lord Almighty is the source of our strength in times of the storm. Continuing to pray and stay in His Word, will keep us steadfast and free of the spirit of fear. Praying through the storms of life will remind us of who we are in Christ, and that we have His covering, protection, and provision at work in our lives at all times. If we find ourselves doubting whether or not we will make it through, or how we're to move forward, meditate on and recite Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Through the adversity look for opportunities to grow and develop your faith. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything," James 1:2-4. Choosing to trust in the Lord during these times will bring great comfort and peace to your heart. Just knowing that He will be by your side is reassurance that everything will work out for your good. His plans never fail. Regardless of where your storm leads you in this life, Sovereign God will go with you and instruct you in the way. Joshua 1:9 says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Buy The Book... About Chelle Ramsey...
