It's another #MarchMadness giveaway. Today's host, Michelle Spady shares a mysteriously sweet excerpt! I cannot wait to read this one! Take a moment to enjoy, and leave a comment for Michelle to be entered into the giveaway. ENOUGH WAS NEVER ENOUGH_EXCERPT The only reason I am here today is to finally set the record straight, and show all of her little protégées that their idol has not always been on top. What a beautiful fall day. Leaves just about to fall from the trees, so much red mixed in with the gold and brown. I can’t believe I am actually hiding behind a post outside of this luxurious five-star hotel in Middleburg, Virginia, and I’m risking going to jail for stalking. The drive out here from Washington, D.C. was only about forty minutes, and it gave me plenty of time to think about my plan for the day. The time alone was anything but peaceful and serene. I worried the entire time, but not once did I think about changing my mind. No, I planned to stay focused on my mission. It was hard to ignore all of the women walking into the hotel’s entrance. Some drove up to the valet parking area, while others strode in from adjacent parking lots. They were all dressed in their best and expecting to receive something befitting the hefty cover charge to be in her presence for the day. If all went well for me, they would receive something, but nothing they paid for. Thirty minutes behind that post and surrounded by all of that foliage made my eyes water and I had to sniffle back the mucus starting to fall out of my nose. I’d only had my head down for a second to fish a tissue out of my pocket when I heard a collective gasp coming from the driveway directly at the foot of the hotel’s entrance. Through blurry eyes I saw that bright red, shiny Porsche 918 Spyder. She swung those legs out; tightly closed, so that you never saw what’s between them, or had been. Only those who’ve been there can testify to that, and boy would they have a story to tell. If thighs could talk. Evelyn Jade Baxter. Those adoring fans fawning all over her know her as Jade. Just Jade. She is their symbol of accomplishment, success, and an elite sense of belonging they desired for themselves. I lurched behind that post thinking about all the money they’ve paid her—buying books, attending workshops, listening to her speak—to give them the key to all of her success. She was known as Evelyn only around family, and even that was shortened to Eve when she was on good terms with everyone, which was rare. Less civil names rushed through my brain as I studied my identical twin sister, remembering another time in our lives; a time she’s apparently forgotten. Fraud. Evelyn was styled simple enough as Jade. She wore a regular uniform consisting of a black pencil skirt, crisp white shirt with the collar and sleeves popped. The black pump was a Louboutin Pigalle, her favorite and in the grand scheme of things, probably the cheapest item on her body. Even from the distance, I noticed the ever-present Louis Vuitton bag and a few trinkets she’d flaunted in front of me: the Cartier necklace, Chanel earrings, and Rolex watch. Enough was never enough for her. Why would she need to brag with her appearance when the Spyder did all of the talking for her? Pretentious fraud. You only bought the car when you found out those stars in Hollywood were the first to own one. You just had to be… Never mind that now, Karolynn Olivia Baxter! Stay focused. I had to interrupt my own thoughts to recall why I was suffering through allergies, hiding behind a post, and this intense need to expose my sister in front of all of those women. Today would be the day they’d learn what the rest of us have known about her for a very long time.
