He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life. Muhammad Ali Last Monday I was extremely nervous about an appearance I had to make at a book club at a library. It would be my first in-person author event, and while I was nervous about it, I was anticipating it as well. I prepared everything I needed for my event, not sure how it would unfold. I had a team of supporters ready to go with me. Yet, fear had me in its grip. I can talk all day one-on-one to people, or a few people at once. But a crowd??? Whew!!! I was uncomfortable speaking to a group with all eyes on me. However, this was something I needed to do. The group was small and intimate. The ladies were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere warm and inviting. The presentation was excellent from the reading of certain chapters to the discussion on my books and writing. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and meeting new readers. When it was all said and done, I realized I look forward to doing this. I was born to do it and I cannot wait until the next event. Whatever your fear and challenges are don't allow them to make you stagnant, hinder your growth, or block your progress. Overcome fear by having faith in the Almighty God, belief in yourself, and putting your best foot forward. Take the risk by stepping out and moving forward on your dreams. Believe in yourself because you were given your dream for a reason. The passion that burns within you is placed there to inspire, encourage, and motivate others. But it's also there to grow you as an individual. Step out of the shadow and don't be afraid to step into the light. There's a special light to shine on you and it's His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). Take the risk on you! It's been another Monday Motivational Moment. Thank you for stopping by.
