Hey girlfriends! Your diva is back and I've got a treat in store for you. Today I have been tasked with interviewing none other than Terrence Franklin. Boo, you may know him better as "Black." Mmhmm, he's here with his sexy, chocolate, fine self! Woo! Somebody bring me my fan.
He's quite a character and everyone loves to hate him, but some of y'all know you love to love him, too. If that wasn't so, girlfriends, he wouldn't have played around on Angel as much as he did. Yeah, I see yo' slip showing, boo. Some of y'all same ones been creeping with him, or dreaming 'bout creeping with him.
Anyhoo, let's get on with the getting on of things. He just stepped into the room.
TYRONE: Black, heyyyy! It's good to see you. (Laughs nervously)
BLACK: Yeah. It's good to be back.
TYRONE: So, in book one you know divas was pulling your card. Honey, you ran them women crazy. I couldn't tell if Angel was coming or going from one day to the next. You used to have her running up out that shop trying to chase you down. I know one day she left outta there so fast tryna catch you at home, I thought fire was gon' catch her tail. Whatever happened with that anyway?
BLACK: Nothing. I mean people often misunderstand me, ya' feel me? I know the day you're talking about, and I was actually at home sick in bed. She got angry because she thought she was gonna catch me in something that just didn't happen.
TYRONE: Not that time anyway. (smacks lips) You really think you're misunderstood, Black?
BLACK: Definitely! I mean people don't really know my story. You'll learn more about me in the last book in the series. People will really understand I'm a good guy.
TYRONE: Black, what impact did your infidelities have on TJ if any?
BLACK: My lil' man is cool. I mean I want him to always have respect for women. I never took him around another woman...for the most part. And he's never seen me lay a hand on his mama. So all he sees is when Angel gets all worked up and we start arguing. I've tried to protect him from my life as much as I could.
TYRONE: Honey, chilrin' pick up more than you could ever imagine. They see what you don't see, and they watching when you think they ain't. Black, we always seen you and Kianna flirting in the shop. Some of us had our thoughts about what y'all was up to, but didn't y'all care about what Angel thought or how it was affecting her?
BLACK: Hell yeah, I cared 'bout what Angel thought. Angel was my first and only love. That girl was and still is my everything. She needed something from me that I didn't know if I was capable of giving. I mean she let me know there was a side of her that I forgot to love. And she was right, I didn't take time to get to really know or love that other side. The way I played it with Kianna...man that was crazy! I didn't mean no harm but I knew if I ignored Kianna, she'd really show out in that shop. See for real, women play little mind games and do subliminal shit--"
TYRONE: Hey! Watch your language. Chelle don't play all that on her blog.
BLACK: My bad. Excuse me peeps. But women play all these games, and that's all Kianna was doing. She'd get started on that flirting stuff and to protect Angel I had to go along with it. I knew if I didn't she'd be acting a fool up in there. And then Angel would really be hurt. I showed that girl a lot of disrespect and I wished I never had. I wished I had protected my Angel more, but I didn't. But we all have to stand up to our wrongs. Now it's my time to stand strong in book 4...hence the name, BeJeweled: Standing Strong.
TYRONE: Honey, walk us through the bedroom scene. What was going through your mind when Angel walked up in there?
BLACK: Maannnn, I was caught up. That's a Wendy Williams moment. I can't believe you bought that up!
TYONE: Well, I did hear y'all was getting buck wild up in that room. You really know how to handle some things, Black? (winks)
BLACK: Hey, dawg! Don't be coming at me like that! I don't know who you thought I was, but standing strong or not, I'm not the one you wanna try.
(Olivia enters the room).
TYRONE: Calm down, calm down. I didn't mean no disrespect, baby.
BLACK: Man, I told you I ain't that one. I ain't yo' baby.
OLIVIA: Gentlemen, please calm down. Now Tyrone, Chelle trusted you with her blog today. I expect that you would remain professional on here at all times, and encourage our guests to be inspirational. Black, please take your seat again. I assure you Tyrone will finish this interview with the highest level of diplomacy and respect.
BLACK: Mrs. O, I don't mean no disrespect to you, but I'm not feeling dude. I ain't never cared for Tyrone, and I'm not gonna--
TYRONE: Care for me? Care for me? Boo, you don't have to like me! I don't like--
OLIVIA: Tyrone! Stop this moment. Gentlemen, I think it's time to bring this interview to an end. Black, on behalf of the readers and Chelle, thanks for stopping by. Is there anything you would like to leave with the readers about the upcoming novel.
BLACK: Man, the truth is so explosive, I don't think The House of BeJeweled will ever be the same.
OLIVIA: Black...is that a threat?
BLACK: No, ma'am. That's the truth. Just get ready. Cuz everyone will have to bear their cross.
