Olivia has overcome many challenges and disappointments in her life. Yet, when faced with an unexpected death of a family member, and witnessing the murder of someone she cares for, she isn’t sure she can survive. The losses incurred on this journey may cause her to pay the ultimate sacrifice.
The return of Black and Kianna means the puzzle pieces of Angel’s life are finally locking into place. The picture is different than she envisioned. Angel must determine if uncovering the truth of their past, is worth the sacrifice of her new relationship.
Kianna’s played dirty in the past, but this time the fight is deadly. She’s willing to go all in to expose the truth, which will cause everyone in the game to ante up. Will her sacrifice be more than she bargained for? Black’s gambled several times in the past, but this time the stakes are high. With his life and those of his family serving as the bargaining chips, it isn’t that easy to fold. To protect those he loves the most, he may have to sacrifice his own life to save theirs.
Angel. Kianna. Black. In the end everyone must bear their cross. And the truth is so explosive, the House will never be the same. One will stand strong and walk away. One will stand strong and make the ultimate sacrifice. And one will stand strong and won’t survive!
Olivia held her head in her hands. Her first thought was prayer and her next was to call her husband. The only way she could determine how to stop things was to involve the authorities. There was no way possible she or Kianna could do it on their own. But she knew if she did nothing, the guilt alone would kill her if something happened to Kianna, Angel or TJ.
“I need to make sure Angel is safe, Kianna. And the only way I can do that is to make sure she stays away from Black and Sweets. My first thought is if she’s with Black, she’ll become a greater target for Sweets. But how can I do that without sharing what I know? Do you see the predicament you’ve placed me in?”
Kianna held her head down and allowed the flood of tears she had been battling all along to ravage her face.
“Kianna, I don’t want to jeopardize your safety either. But as I think about it, the only thing I can suggest is you go away until this situation is resolved,” Olivia stressed.
“But, I can’t do that! What about my job? I finally have the job of my dreams—”
“And if you don’t get out this madness you won’t live to work another day! Do you understand the severity of everything you just told me? There are two men who are at war with one another and one of them has nothing to lose. I’m not convinced that keeping this thing quiet is going to resolve anything, Kianna.” Olivia blew out a deep breath and looked towards the ceiling.
“Father,” she begin to pray, “You led Kianna back to me for a reason today. I have to believe You have all things in Your mighty hands. You tell us that in all things You work for the good of those of us who love You and are called according to Your purpose. Well, Lord, I want nothing more than to do Your will right now. So, please guide me on the right way to go in this situation. Help Kianna to see this situation from a different perspective. And give both of us courage and strength to do what we must do and to work together for the greater outcome. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth I pray.” Olivia’s heart was beating rapidly as she concluded her prayer, but she didn’t open her eyes just yet.
She regained control of her thoughts and allowed Holy Spirit to wash over her and force out the spirit of fear that threatened to consume her. Although fear no longer consumed her the peace that she sought would not come. A chill ran down her spine and her heartbeat sped up. Kianna sat staring into space, tears pouring down her face. “Alright, Mrs. O. You win…I hope you know what you’re doing,” Kianna whispered.
“I don’t need to know, sweetie. All I have to do is trust in Him and follow His lead. And right now He’s leading me to call my husband,” Olivia confessed, picking up her cell phone. “Make arrangements to leave the city. I know you just started your job, but can you prepare to be gone at least a week?”
Kianna nodded, “I can try. It’s short notice.”
“Honey, tell them whatever you need to tell them. Tell them it’s a family emergency and leave! Don’t tell anyone where you’re going, not even me,” Olivia coerced.
