A Necessary Love...

Today's another #writerwednesday and the excerpt that I am sharing comes from Book 2 in The House of BeJeweled series. BeJeweled: What A Tangled Web We Weave is Nikki and Carlos' story. You can also find out what really happened with Olivia and Raymond, as well as the other characters from book 1.

This excerpt is taken from a chapter entitled: A Necessary Love.

Nikki was unsure how long she had been out. But when she came to, bright lights were surrounding her, and strange faces were staring back at hers.

“Where am I?” she asked the kind, elderly lady looking into her eyes.

“Atlanta Medical Center. Honey, can you tell me your name?” the lady asked.

“Huh?”

“I need you to tell me your name.”

“Nekana Vincent.”

“And do you know what today is?”

Nikki shook her head to clear it, but regretted it as soon as she did. It felt as if her head were about to explode.

“Umm, it’s…it’s October 12th.” She recalled that Mrs. O had just gotten married yesterday.

“Do you know what happened to you, honey?” the lady asked.

Nikki turned her head towards the wall. She didn’t want to talk about it; she recalled exactly what had occurred between her and her husband. She was not only hurt, but she was furious at Carlos. Never had he caused her to enter the hospital. In the past, the situations had always been able to be handled by the two of them. The police had been called by the neighbors in the past when things had gotten too loud, but Carlos had learned to keep things under control as much as possible.

“There are two police officers standing outside this door that would like to speak to you.”

Nikki still refused to speak. She didn’t know what they expected, but she refused to get Carlos into any trouble. She wanted everyone to just leave her alone. If only there was one friendly face in the crowd, she could make it through the rest.

“Mrs. Vincent, I’m Dr. Carney. This is Nurse McKinley and Dr. Robertson,” she said, gesturing to a middle aged woman with a kind smile, yet worried expression in her eyes, and a tall doctor, who wore a serious expression on his face. “We’re all concerned about you. You have a mild concussion, and we want to keep you overnight for observation. There is severe bruising to your ribs, and you have suffered a mild hematoma to your left eye, which is a collection of blood outside of the blood vessels. I would like to have you X-rayed to take a closer look at your ribs, as there is a hematoma there as well. But we will schedule that soon. I want you to get some rest, and I will inform the two police officers that you have only five minutes, and then they must leave.”

“What time is it, doctor?” It was the first question she had asked since learning her location.

“It’s 2:33 in the morning,” Dr. Carney replied, looking at her watch.

“Thank you.”

“Oh, by the way, you have another gentleman outside waiting to see you. He can visit for a few moments after the police officers leave, if you’re up to visitors. Usually, visiting hours are over by now, but I’m willing to make an exception in this instance. He seems really worried, and there was no one else we could find to contact,” Dr. Carney explained.

“Who is it?”

“His name is Wesley King,” Dr. Carney said, consulting the chart in her hand.

“Thank you…Dr. Carney?”

“Yes, Mrs. Vincent?” Dr. Carney turned back around.

“Is there a mirror that I can see?”

“Sure, give me just a moment.” The doctor went into the bathroom and brought back a small, hand-held mirror.

After checking her bruises and swelling, she had hidden the mirror underneath the covers and fought back the tears. Nikki had not been cooperative with the police officers at all, despite their reassurances that they would catch her husband, if, in fact, he was the one who had done this to her.

Taking Notes...

Hello, Fabulous People! It's another Tête-à-Tête Tuesday with Tyrone! Last week we dished on Kianna. Now when I have these little chats with you, I hope you're learning something. I'm not just talking for my health. I'm trying to teach y'all something, because I don't want you walking around looking like a fool.

So, get your pen and paper out if you need to, but learn a little something from this fabulous diva. Okay?

Point #1: When you're at work...be professional. Don't be on the phone blowing up your man's phone. If he wants to talk to you, he'll answer that phone. If he don't answer it, then he might be working. Now what he's working on, or who he's working is another story. But you have work to do, too. Girlfriend, don't be losing your job over no foolish, no-good man that don't want you anyway.

Point #2: Never! I mean never, leave your place of business to go spying on no man! If you take a break to see what he's up to, what do you expect? You know that old saying, when you go looking for trouble, you're gonna find it? Well, they didn't just pull that out their behind. Ladies, let me tell you, if you do leave your work and run into trouble, what you gon' do? I mean, you can give him hell, but you still gotta go back to work. If you don't, you won't have a job. Who gon' pay your bills, boo? Surely not that man who was up to no good. And honey, now your day is all messed up! You can't surely go back feeling good after that mess you ran up on. So, I say do your eye spy with your little eye after hours.

Point #3: Don't be checking under beds and in no closets. If your man makes you do all that then honey you need to get ghost! I mean it. That's a full-time job trying to keep a man who don't wanna be kept. Send him packin' or boo, you get yo' thangs and get your own. After all, Ne-Yo, said "I like her cuz she got her own." Men do want a woman that's got something to bring to the table. So, if that thang you workin' with now ain't workin' for you, it's time to fire him, and get yo' own. Get yo' own man, who gon' respect you, love you, and treasure you.

Point #4: Don't be having no pity party. Honey, you can't break down over every little issue. Don't be sitting up there wasting no tears on a man who ain't wasting nothing on you. Girlfriend, get a plan and get a life. Then celebrate you!

In The Stillness...

Hello! It's another Motivational Monday Moment. I am deeply inspired today and I want you to be inspired to live your best life ever, as well. It is my sincere hope that you have a fabulous week and that you live empowered and inspired!

Yesterday morning I was working out, while listening to various worship songs. As Nicole C. Mullen's "My Redeemer Lives," begin to play, I listened closely to the lyrics. I connected with that song in a different way than I normally do. In the midst of my workout, I had a powerful worship, which carried me throughout my day.

It never ceases to amaze me when and where His spirit ministers to me. Some of the same activities that I perform on a daily basis can suddenly become an unexpected worship session. I have been driving, doing laundry, at work, grocery shopping, and involved in any number of activities, when I felt the spirit moving. I am convinced that we really must find Him in the simple, quiet things in life.

We find a new appreciation for our blessings, and have the ability to look at our challenges from a different perspective. When I spend time in His presence, I find strength, healing, peace, and joy. When I spend time in His presence, my gifts and abilities are more pronounced than ever before.

Formal, 'get down on your knees' prayer is not always required to spend time with Him. Don't get me wrong, I definitely do that. But, I have also learned to converse with Him wherever I am, and in whatever I am going through. I talk to Him, as I talk to you. I ask Him to guide me every day. And each morning, as I praise Him for another day, I simply desire that He use me to bless someone else. I need Him to show me what He desires me to do that day.

Now, with my talkative self, I'm learning to be still and listen. There's something beautiful and amazing in the stillness of God. He cares and He wants to hear from us. When no one else understands, He truly does.

I understand that there is peace in the stillness. There's forgiveness and healing in the stillness. There's deliverance in the stillness. Also, in the stillness you can find empowerment and victory. But most of all, you can find Him in the stillness.

Where This Road Leads...

It's a #throwbackthursday and I'm honoring that with a blog post from 2012. It's interesting how much we change, yet stay the same as time changes. There were several things that this post caused me to reflect on as I re-read it.

Written Friday, July 20, 2012 on Writing My Dreams

Today I had the opportunity to be interviewed for a press release. And although someone that I was familiar with was the person hosting the interview, I realized I was just as nervous as if I were interviewing for a position within a company. However, as the interview surged forward I found myself becoming relaxed and comfortable and dropping all doubts and fears. The more questions she had for me the more I began to think about my book and my writing in ways that I had not before.

Last night I came to the revelation that I was born to do this...because it fulfills me when I write and create stories. I understand this is one of God's purposes in my life to bring enjoyment to others. I feel settled and as though I have finally come home and found the place that I belong. And when I shared with my husband that this is what I was born to do, he stated to me "I'm glad you're finally listening to me." So with that revelation came another one today...I am going to be okay  no matter where this road leads. I was comfortable interviewing and passionate about describing "Reflections of Promises" and for the first time I had true confidence in my work without reservation.

I received a 4 star rating on Amazon this past Sunday, which boosted my confidence and then today I received a couple of more reviews and one person actually read the entire book in one day. What an honor! It truly left me speechless and encouraged me in ways that I cannot describe. So I will close this blog earlier tonight as I go back to another project I have in the works...something about fences and grass...can't reveal too much too early.

Supporting The Vows...

As wives we are often called to support our husbands in ways that may push us beyond our comfort zone. Sometimes, we have to take a back seat to other areas that take precedence in their lives, but is for the greater good of the family. Our attitudes will dictate the outcome of these situations. Especially, when a negative attitude can not only impact the marriage, but also the mission that he's on.

I know this feeling all too well. Today, I'm sharing a glimpse into the marriage of Davina and Ronnie. It's another #writerwednesday. Read on...

IS THE GRASS REALLY GREENER

BELIEVE IN ME (CHAPTER) EXCERPT
Picture

“My baby, you sure are good to a man, look at you lookin’ all sexy in that red lingerie. Heeyyy, I got my own personal plus size super model…” Ronnie said, grabbing Davina in a tight hug. They were standing in their bedroom with the lights on low, slow dancing to The System’s “Don’t Disturb this Groove.”

“Watch out now…those models ain’t got nothing on me,” Davina replied, grinning from ear to ear. Her husband loved her just the way she was and because of that she never felt a reason to be self-conscious of her voluptuous figure. She never had been anyway, and he just gave her confidence an extreme boost.  They had both had a couple of glasses of wine and turned the fireplace on in their room, more for the ambience than for the warmth. As a matter of fact, it was starting to get warm in the room, but Davina couldn’t tell if that was from the fireplace or the heat she and Ronnie were generating.

He kissed his wife softly on the lips and pulled her back close into his arms. Davina inhaled the fresh scent of Shower to Shower he had sprinkled on after finishing his shower. She didn’t know what she had done to deserve a man so good. She knew that the girls often pitied her because Ronnie had been unemployed for three years now, but she didn’t need anyone’s pity. They weren’t paying her bills or raising her kids. All she needed was the love of a good man. Besides, she had a wonderful job at Intelcom as an IT Director. Her salary was enough to cover all the bills and the kids’ extracurricular activities. But when he had lost his job they had to cut back on expenses like eating out at finer restaurants, vacations had been reduced to local areas rather than New York, Tahiti, Paris, Jamaica, and Hawaii. When it came time to pay the bills, there was a running joke about which ones they weren’t going to be able to pay, but it was far from the truth. She wouldn’t exchange a moment with this fine man for all the material wealth in the world.

Davina recalled meeting him when he came to install cable in her townhouse after she had just gotten her first real job after college. He was so sexy and good looking and she and the girls were having Friday Night Feast at her place. They had voted to stay at her place that night since they knew she had to be home to have cable installed. But they didn’t want her to be alone with a complete stranger in her home, so everyone had voted to stay in for Friday Night Feast.

Friday Night Feast was a monthly event where the ladies went out to eat and took turns deciding where they would eat…and then pig out. Throughout the years they had alternated between going out and staying in to eat. She had flirted shamelessly with the cable guy that night being encouraged by the girls. After a few drinks of wine, she had no reservations and that dimple in his left cheek seemed to be winking at her every time he smiled her way. She had been very shapely even then but he didn’t care, he just flirted back.

But it wasn’t until a couple of weeks later when she called in a complaint about her service, that she knew how serious he was. He was the tech to arrive on the scene to resolve the issue, upon leaving, he gave her his personal cell number and told her to call him with anymore issues or if she just wanted to talk. She couldn’t get up the courage to do so even with the girls egging her on. So he took the bull by the horns and stopped by unannounced one Friday night on Feast night and invited her out just before she was scheduled to leave with the girls. She didn’t make it out with him that night, but that Saturday night they had their first date, and their first night of hot sex, too and it hadn’t stopped since.

“Vina,”

“Mmm,” she murmured continuing to sway to the beat with her husband.

“Max’s friend, Carl offered me a job today.”

“Oh, that’s good, honey…do you have an interview set up already?” she asked, still lying her head on his bare chest and swaying her ample hips in time with the beat, as the song segued into “Let’s Get it On.”

“Nope, he’s offered the job to me; it’s mine for the taking,” he said in a slightly distracted tone.

“Ooohh…that’s good. What will you be doing?”

“It only starts off at approximately $30,000 for greenhorns who are the lowest on the totem pole. I know it’s not much, but it’s better than nothing. I can work my way up fast, and it’s seasonal,” he said, avoiding her question.

“Wow…will you be back in the communications field?” she asked not paying attention to the term greenhorn. Ronnie had moved from a cable technician to a principal engineer within the first couple of years of their dating. He finally had procured the role of Sr. Level Technical Manager six years ago. The company, Walton Communications had merged with another telecommunications company, BC&T, three years ago and Ronnie had been laid off. It was a devastating blow, but they had been able to withstand it with her salary, his severance, and their savings.

“Ummm no…but it’s only one season a year and it’s a paying job. Once the season is over, I can return home and find other work until the off season is over,” he murmured against her ear holding her closer as he felt her body go taut.

“Return home? What you mean return home…Ronnie, where are you going?”

“It’s a traveling job.”

“Where…where are you going and how long will you be gone?”

“To the Bering Strait for four to five months, depending on how the season goes.”

“What?!” Davina screamed in his ear pulling away from him. This time he let her go because he had to place his hand over his left ear, trying to recover from the pain and shock of her shriek right against his ear.

“I’ll be going to the Bering Strait for four or five months.”

“To do what Ronnie?”

“Crab fishing.”

“Have you lost your ever loving mind? The Bering Strait? What you know about crab fishing?” she shouted again.

From My Lips To Yours...

Triflin' is what it is! Yes, it's Tête-à-Tête Tuesday with Tyrone! And Diva's I am here, ready to dish on one of the stylists at The House of BeJeweled. Mm-hmm, in case you haven't read Kianna was about to go ham on a client!

I don't care whatever your role is in this life, on the job you are to remain professional at all times. You never allow your emotions to rule you, because then everything and everyone around you can and will rule you. And that's where Kianna went wrong.

Baby doll, grab a seat and your favorite mug of whatever, and let me clue you in.

We were all in the salon just doing our thing. In walks this girl, Danielle,. She used to be a client of Kianna's. I knew I hadn't seen her in a while, but chiiillle, I had no clue! Supa Freak (Kianna) had struck again! Danielle stopped at the reception desk to see Maya like she was 'sposed to, and Maya sent her on back.

Girlfriend, Danielle asked Kianna if she could speak to her for a moment, and then that hooker gone act like she's too busy. See, Kianna should've asked Danielle to step outside for a moment to speak with her. Truth is, between you and me, she knew exactly what Danielle wanted. She should've controlled the moment, and not allowed the moment to control her.

It didn't matter, because Danielle called her on it. Apparently what had happened was, Kianna's been messing around with Danielle's man. I guess that's why she ain't been getting her hair done up by Kianna. Your girl's been doing more than her share.

And Danielle came ready to fight your girl. People underestimate Kianna too often. Because she's a diva and a supafreak, they ain't ready for her. But Danielle got saved from a butt whipping cuz Ms. O walked up in there. Now, I honestly don't know how it would've went down. But at the end of the day, I believe she would've gotten whooped by Kianna.

But here's what I don't get. Why did Danielle come up in there looking a hot mess? If I was fighting for my man, the best ammo I can have is my looks. Ladies, if you're competing...tight, worn out sweat suits, run over gym shoes, and a messy, nappy ponytail isn't working.

Now, don't get me wrong. I know she really came ready to put them hands on Kianna! Cuz she act like she tryna get what she ain't ready fo! But you can still be cute in sweats without looking like a beast. Slick on some Vaseline and handle your  business.

Afterwards exact your revenge on that man. Girlfriend, get your hair and nails done, get that face professionally made up, and then don't forget to buy a few hot little numbers that show off all your curves!

But sweet revenge comes from MAX. That's right max out that credit card. Yes ma'am, get that card while he's sleeping or after you've laid it on him real good! Then everything you need and want goes on there. But make sure you do it after he's paid the last bill. You want a fresh start, so you can get as much as you want.

Honey, have a night on the town at his expense and take all your girlfriends. But don't forget to get you a few hookups, too. After all, he needs a reason to really be jealous.

And then when he gets that credit card bill, leave him!

Now don't get me wrong, The House of BeJeweled series is an inspirational, women's series. When you get to know all of us, you'll realize we're the people you work with, shop with, play with, attend church and other functions with. Hell, we're your family! But I'm going to dish on the gossip. Because that's who I am, and that's what you love about me!

Anyway, come back next Tuesday! You won't believe what happens next.

Well, I gotta run, a few of these divas are lined up to sit in my chair. Hair looking a hot mess! A diva has got to make that  money.

Tata for now,

Tyrone

Living Life To Inspire...

7/20/2015

I had hoped when my life was chronicled, it would be an inspirational story. - Om Puri

Inspiration is a powerful element of life. Some people are inspired in the arts and science, for others it might be fashion, or religion. Still other people find inspiration in daily living. They are inspired to pursue their dreams, take on a challenge, or simply be the real "them." Their inspiration can come from a high profile celebrity, or the checkout clerk at the grocery store.

We often find inspiration in some of the simplest things in life, whether it be a word from a loved one, lyrics to a song, or a quote from a book. I have found inspiration in a child's smile, a waterfall, and the sun shining.

I seek to inspire my family, my friends and co-workers. I want to leave an impact on the members of my church family, associates, those that follow me on my blog and on social media sites. I even want to leave an impact on those that I may never see again, another customer at my daughter's favorite hip hop fashion store in the mall, the homeless person on the street in downtown Atlanta as I walk from the commuter bus to my job, and the person in the car next to me crying.

But what I have learned is that there is nothing specific that I can do to be inspirational. I have learned through my husband's constant repetitions and life experience that I can only be me. And in being the best me that I can be I just might touch a life. Everyday I simply ask the Lord to use me to bless someone else. I seek when possible to be that light in a darkened world. And when He choose to, He uses me to touch a life.

Some days, I am just quirky, emotional, zany me, who doesn't make sense to another soul including myself. But it's in these moments that I am the best me. Because I am simply me in the raw. And in those rare instances, I have found that I have impacted someone's life. Why? Because I wasn't scared to be me, and I didn't worry about living under the cloud of judgment of another's opinions.

Today, I want to encourage you to be the best you that you can be. Don't worry about someone else not approving of you. Don't let the weight of others' opinions crush you. Know who you are, and Whose you are. When you are simply being you and being the best you that you can be, that's when you inspire someone else. That's when you touch a life, whether it's ever revealed to you or not. Live life for you! Live your life with courage, purpose and faith!

Trouble Brewing In Paradise #SampleSunday

Olivia waited a long time for the love of her life, and 20 years of patience had finally paid off. But after the honeymoon is over, unrest is brewing. Could there be trouble in Paradise already?

BeJeweled: What A Tangled Web We Weave

The Other Wife Excerpt

For the first time in a long time, Olivia felt doubt and fear surge up within her. She never allowed the enemy to take a foothold in her mind. But at this moment, she wondered if Bethany’s words were true. Raymond had never really been open to talking about his feelings over how his first marriage had dissolved. He had shared with her the details behind the divorce, but not all of his true feelings on it. Olivia began to think maybe she had been foolish to get married without insisting on that conversation. She had never taken the time to ensure the man had healed from his pain.

“Ray…do you still have feelings for her?” Olivia asked with uncertainty threaded throughout her voice.

“Look, Ivy. You should know me better than that. Of course not! I mean, I love her for being the mother of my children. But that’s the extent of my feelings for her. I fell out of love with Beth years ago. I told you, I stayed for the kids.”

“Well, you have never wanted to discuss your feelings about what she did to you. You just briefly skim over the subject, but—”

Raymond cut her off. “Look, I don’t want to talk about it now. I’m heading out. I’ll be back later,” he said, getting up and putting his shoes on.

“Where are you going, Ray?”

“To Beck’s Tavern,” he stated, referring to a local bar and grill.

“Don’t you want me to go?”

“Nah, I’ll be alright. I’ll be back.” He gave her a light peck on the lips and left the bedroom.

The Phone Call...

Hello Fabulous People,

In many of the posts I've written, snippets I've shared and even in the book video, I hint about a particular phone call that will change Nikki's life in BeJeweled: What A Tangled Web We Weave.

Today, I will share a brief portion of that phone call. It goes a little something like this...

LOVING HER MAN (CHAPTER) EXCERPT:

Am I really on display now? She thought. On days like this I wish…

“What, Nikki…what do you wish, darling?” she asked herself aloud. Shaking her head, she walked to the bedroom and undressed to prepare for a relaxing shower. But she needed some encouragement first.

She sat down on the bed and called her grandmother-in-law for a brief chat. “Hey, Pearl, how you doin’ today?”

“Aww, I guess I’m okay; can’t complain. This here author starting up in these ole bones of mine and my knees again. But I’m blessed to see another day the Lord has given us.”

“Author who?”

“Author itis…you know ‘bout that stuff, chile,”

“Oh, Lord, you so silly.” Nikki laughed.

“Anyhoo, nuff ‘bout my problems. How you doin’, chile?”

“I’m tired…just tired,” Nikki replied, lying back on her bed.

“Another one of those days, huh?”

“Well, not so much as others. He wasn’t in a depressed state today, but his nervousness cost him a job interview.”

“Yeah, I figured as much. He come calling me first thing this morning complaining about how unorganized you was. Said he didn’t know what to do ‘bout it. He said you made him miss out on his job interview. And I tole’ that lazy good-for-nuthin’ grandson of mine to stop blaming his wife for the reason his life is the way it ‘tis. He need to blame that other woman, the Jamie girl. You know, that bottle he keeps turnin’ up. Same thang I used ta tell his daddy. But one day, sugar, you gon’ wise up and leave him. One day you gon’ get smart and get up outta there and not end up like his mother, Karen, did. I tole her all the time to leave my son. The first time, I called the police on him for putting his hands on her and she told me ta mind my own business. She turned right around and went back to ‘em. I didn’t get involved no mo’. But I sho hate to know my son took that woman’s life. Now my grandson bitter 'bout it, and he going down the same road as his daddy. I don’t want to see him in prison like his daddy. No mor’n I wanna see you dead, chile.”

“I know, Pearl…I know. I’ve been trying to get him some help. I’ve been talking to him about rehab and all. But Carlos won’t listen right now.”

“And he ain’t gonna. You gon’ have to leave him, chile…you just gon’ have ta pack up yo stuff and gwon’ ‘bout yo bizness. I don’t wanna see you locked up, either, for having ta go ‘cross his head. And when a woman’s fed up, ain’t no limit ta what she’ll do.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

“Now I want you to thank ‘bout what I said, hear? You might need ta ‘gwon back over there with yo mama a few days. You know, get yo’ head together. Cuz when a man knocking you in it, he ‘bout don’ knocked all ya sense out, and ya can’t thank straight. So I don’t think you thanking right. Just pack up when he ain’t around, and leave. Give ‘im sumpin’ ta thank ‘bout.”

Nikki sighed into the phone, “Mama Pearl, it’s not that easy. He’s always here, every day and night. Me trying to pack my things and sneak out will set off World War III.”

Welcome to my Writer Wednesdays. You will always be able to find samples of my writings and excerpts from chapters of my book. I also enjoy sharing other authors' works as well. If you are an author and are interested in sharing your work here, please leave me a comment or click the Contact Me, page.

Today, I am sharing a sample from Book 2 in The House of BeJeweled series. BeJeweled: What A Tangled Web We Weave is my new release. I would also like to ask a favor of you at the end. But read on...

A TURN OF EVENTS:
Angel and Olivia had just finished going over some last minute details for the grand opening and were sitting in her office.

“So, how are you doing with all of this?” Olivia asked, twirling a pen between her fingers.

Angel puckered her lips and a thoughtful look came across her face as she squinted her eyes. “I guess I’m coming along alright. My mom wants me to try to contact Black again, but on Bria’s advice, I won’t do it. And thank you for allowing her to represent me on this thing. I just can’t believe that after all this time, Kianna wants to pull this stunt.”

Olivia shook her head and chose her words carefully before she spoke. “I know that you’re angry with everything that’s going on right now, and you have a right to be. But I want you to stay filled with peace throughout this ordeal. Don’t let the enemy steal your joy again. You do know this attack against us is nothing but the devil? He’s mad, because the thing that he meant for your bad, God is turning it around for your good. Do you remember just a few months ago when I told you that discovering your husband was messing with Kianna would be the best thing that happened to you?”

Angel shook her head, yes.

“Well, Angel…I was right. If either of them continues down the road they’re going, nothing good will come of it. You have received a better position than the one you had before. You’re preparing to be trained as a salon manager; you’ve moved out of your mom’s place back on your own. You’re taking college courses on the road to your dreams. And you have a young man who seems to care about you deeply,” Olivia said, referring to Alex.

“I understand, Olivia, but I don’t have the money for a lawsuit,” Angel stated with a firm shake of her head. Leaning back against the black leather couch across from Olivia’s desk, she rolled her eyes up to the ceiling and blew out a breath.

“You don’t need money for that. Bria is doing this pro bono. And as for the rest of it, I want you to stand on faith. Angel, you have to find your way back to God. That’s the only way you will make it through the attacks you encounter in life. Pray, stay in the faith, and trust Him when you can’t trust nothing else.” Olivia’s forehead was wrinkled in a frown. She understood this young girl had been through a lot, but she also knew that God had great things in store for her, if she would just try Him.

Girlfriend! Girlfriend! Somebody thinks they're slick! She had the audacity to move without giving me a heads up. Didn't even bother to consult me about how I might feel about all this mess.

Yes! It's me the fabulicious diva, Tyrone is in the place! Chelle moved and I actually stopped by Writing My Dreams, and all I found was moving boxes and an empty room. Who the h*** does she really think she is? (Giving the side eye)

For those of you who don't know me yet, I am Tyrone Johnson, Stylist of The Divas! My home? You can find me on Peachtree Street in the ATL, at none other than The House of BeJeweled. Don't get it twisted, that's the downtown Atlanta location. I haves no time to be hanging out in Buckhead with them snobs.

I am 6'3" and 205 pounds of nothing but fabulosity! There's magic in these hands, baby doll, but sometimes these hoodwinked heffas, yes I said, heffas and not heifers, think I can work magic. Let me explain something, I can make you beautiful if you got something to work with. But some of these chicks hold raw beauty that no amount of money or magic can handle.

But let's move on. I won't say enough about me, because it's never enough about me. I just want to invite you to stop in on Tuesdays for a Tête-à-Tête with Tyrone. I don't care if you come Monday, or Wednesday through Friday, but you better be here on Tuesdays. I will come looking for you.

We'll be chatting about a little of everything. From Angel's issues to shaking my head at Nikki's foolishness. Now that chick got some secrets that will outsell any shade of grey, blue, or black. If you get my hint. Mm-hmm.

Well I've gotta run for now. I just got a call that I have a few divas lined up waiting to get in my chair. Come and check out your, boo, Tyrone on Tuesdays. Oh and if you need your do did, here's my calling card...

Motivated To Inspire!

At my previous blog, Writing My Dreams, every Monday was a Motivational Monday Moment. This will not change here. I will continue to seek ways to motivate and inspire you to have a blessed and beautiful week, and to pursue your dreams.

This week I am also motivating myself by breaking down my larger goals into smaller ones. You can do this same thing, which will propel you to moving forward into growth and seeing progress towards your vision.

For example my larger vision is:

1.) Grow a large following at my blog and provide an interactive user experience.

2.) Boost recognition and sales of Book 2 in The House of BeJeweled series.

3.) Impact followers and readers to pursue their dreams.

Therefore, I break these down into smaller goals:

1.) Make a direct connection with each of my previous followers, requesting they follow me here. I also will focus on building relationships with those individuals where they feel comfortable engaging with me here.

2.) Work to engage followers, family and friends to support my Thunderclap for my new book campaign before the deadline.

3.) Getting to know my followers and what matters to them. I then become enabled to blog about what matters to them, and create content that inspires and motivates them to live their dreams.

I have much more detailed action steps that I need to take to achieve my larger vision. However, the above is just a sample of some steps I must take.

WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME to Beautifully Inspired! Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and read along...

I am finally home where I belong! I have researched various sites to use for blogging, and had many ideas. The only thing that I knew for sure was that I was done with Blogger. Actually, I've been done with them for almost two years now, but stayed because of its familiarity.

I kept searching until I could find something that was the right fit for yours truly. Then it all clicked. Almost daily I am managing a blog and my website. I am hopping from this site to that site trying to perform upkeep and maintenance. Until finally, a smart brick hit me. Create a blog on my website!

WHY THE SWITCH?

1.) It allows easy MAINTENANCE of both my blog and website in one place.
2.) Brings YOU here where all information about my books and me exist, rather than having you scroll to the bottom of my page for a link.
3.) Allows you to CONNECT with me in a more personable way.
4.) Brings FRESH content to my website daily through blog posts.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT?

1.) Motivational Monday Moments (This was something that inspired others from Writing My Dreams.)
2.) Tête-à-Tête
Tuesdays w/Tyrone
3.) Writer Wednesdays (Sharing samples of my works)
4.)  Random Interview Thursdays (Everyday people will be interviewed about anything).
5.) Fabulous Fridays! (Come check it out to see what's in store for you).
